Twas the night before Christmas. He was so worried indeed.
So see such a man so cold and in need.
Ten yards down on the bench to the right.
He thought about whether to just pass or do right.
He thought about Christmas. It was his annual treat.
Not so for the cold man with not a thing on his feet.
He saw the man shiver the closer he got.
Then he remembered the things that Jesus had taught.
"Do unto others as you would have done unto you."
He began to see the world from this mans own view.
He thought about how often people must walk on by.
Look, shake their head and give a slight sigh.
He thought of how hard during Christmas it must be,
For the man to be happy to any degree.
So he had a decision one yard from the man.
To do something for him. To do all that he can.
"Excuse me sir, I see you laying there.
Your feet are without shoes. I have an extra pair.
Your clothes appear dirty. Here's my jacket, it's yours.
Lets get you cleaned up and in from outdoors."
And so they walked together. One hundred yards from the house.
Where the worried young man lived with his spouse.
He opened the door and sat the man on a chair.
He brought him some food and offered a prayer.
"Please let us give to those less fortunate than we.
So that we can understand what Christmas really means."
Giving and sharing what you have with others.
Christmas is the time where others are brothers.
