The Dance

I pull her close and hold her tight.
Her skin soft, her dress so right.
The music played, it owned the night.
Swaying left, swaying right.
The couples surrounding us have grown.
Yet the two of us feel all alone.
She is the special part of my night.
She only comes in my sight.
I whisper sweet words into her ear.
She smiles as her eye rolls down a tear.
I wipe it away, and give her a kiss.
The feeling inside is nothing short of sweet bliss.
But then the song stops, at half past eleven.
Putting an end to three minutes in heaven.
